In
WWII, we had spam,
Very
seldom ham.
Drank
water from lister bags,
And,
at times, beer from kegs!
Some
flew planes
Through
winds and rains,
To
the place of Rising Sun
But
in '45, our work was done!
After
the war, truth be known,
We
"high tailed" it home,
To
forget the past,
From
first to last!
Yet
some memories
Do
not quickly fade,
Like
the slow-moving sun
Creating
lots of shade.
Would
you do it again.
And
give your youth,
To
establish Freedom
In
anchoring Truth?
Time
has gone
Swiftly
by,
When
B-29's
Covered
the sky.
But
we won
The
second World War,
When
time changed us
To
man from boy!
Haul
up the anchor;
Raise
the Flag;
Say
good-bye to the past,
Creating
no drag!
