Why?
A
man of many talents,
This North Carolina guy-
Poetry, music, painting;
Full of doubts and asking,
Why?
His
music is unique in style-
To others it brings such joy;
And though he records the songs he
plays,
He doubts if it's worthwhile.
Why?
The
words he pens from long ago
Are his memories, he'll tell you now;
But, even with his poetry-
He's full of doubts, somehow.
Why?
He
paints in oils, using knives,
Again it's his own style.
They're beautiful, rich in color-
And definitely worthwhile.
His technique is impressionism;
Yet, he doesn't see his wisdom.
Why?
He's
always on the edge of perfection
Leaving something for him to desire.
He needs to value his talent
And not ever ponder ......
Why?
We
look at the evening sky seeing
Jet planes screaming by.
We watch the bright moon shining
And I begin to understand his
Why?
He's
flown the world all over
From one sky to another.
A pilot, flying is in his blood you
know,
And he misses it like no other.
All
his other talents
Rest behind this 'flying' need,
And once he understands this
His perfection can be achieved.
Perhaps, one day he will again fly;
But, until then......
He will always ask,
Why?
