COLOR DOESN'T MATTER
~ Bevanne Sinclair ~

Why do we judge others
by the shade of their skin?
Why are we bothered if their hue
is lighter or darker by a shade or two?

We all have the same sorrows, and joys
and have the same battles to win.
We all have friends and
homes and loving kin.

Color doesn't affect your mind
or your heart or your soul.
Why must we demote people
different from us to a lesser role?

There are good folks and bad
in all hues, I'll remind.
Judge not by one's color,
but by the good in their hearts that you find!
