You can find this river anywhere in the country.  For me it is here on the North Carolina-Virginia border.  It is true solitude: a place where at night, one can look up and see a sky blazing with trillions and trillions of bright stars.  People ask why I paint with knives instead of brushes.  I know only that painting with knives frees me somehow and better enables me to use color differently, in a way that excites me.
